The Museu Bordalo Pinheiro, in Lisbon, is celebrating its 100th anniversary on Saturday, August 6, with a number of activities starting from 7 pm, the museum has announced.

The activities include a guided tour and a documental showcase. The celebration also includes an outdoor projection of animation films conceived by Fine Arts students, inspired by Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro’s work.

The museum will also pay tribute to its founder, poet Cruz Magalhães.

Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro (1846-1905) was a multifaceted Portuguese artist who created a vast collection of artworks that often criticised the cultural, social and political aspects of the society he lived in. His work included graphic and plastic arts, ceramics, drawings, among others.
