The interdisciplinary conference David Bowie Interart Text Media takes place between September 22 and 26, at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon.

During four days, researchers from Portugal and overseas will be analysing the British artist work and his legacy in several platforms and art spheres. “The initiative also intends to give visibility to diffferent perspectives on the artist’s work, which has been attracting growing scientific production, and setting new itineraries and angles for cultural analysis (…),” according to the news published in the official page of the Faculty.

The conference programme includes talks, presentations, as well as a roundtable with guests coming from different artistic areas and a Djing session at Culturgest, on September 24, starting from 5 pm. Some of the presentations include topics such as Bowie’s endless self-reinvention as a form of immortality: The Narcissus myth represented in Velvet Goldmine, by the turkish Zeynep Naz Inansal; David Bowie’s Performing Bodies: Intermediality, gestural migration and collaborative process in music video, by Lisa Perrott, from New Zealand.
Conferences as well as the events Absolutely Bowie and Heroes just for one Evening are open to all, and there is no need for previous registration.

This conference is organised by the University of Lisbon Centre for English Studies.
