The Cinema Ideal is screening a set of films selected by Apichatpong Weerasethakul, until November 2. The Thai director passed by the capital city of Portugal to present his projection-performance, Fever Room.
The highlights of the selection include Apichatpong’s films, Uncle Boonmee who can recall his past lives (Palme d’Or at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival), Mekong Hotel (2012), Cemetery of Splendour (2015), in addition to other director’s films, including Like Someone in Love, by Abbas Kiarostami, Nostalgia for the Light, by Patricio Guzmán, and Post Tenebras Lux, by Carlos Reygada.
Fever Room was played at Sao Luiz Teatro Municipal, between October 29 and 30. After the world première in South Korea, last year, and the European première, this year, at Kunsten Festival, Belgium, and Steirischer Herbst — Festival of New Art, in Austria, Fever Room was in Lisbon with a cast composed by Jenjira Pongpas, Banlop Lomnoi and Teenagers of Nabua. This is a show that combines performance, cinema and visual arts.
