The exhibition Lisboa de Bordalo (Bordalo’s Lisbon, in English), is taking place until June, at Museu Bordalo Pinheiro.

Commissioned by Museu Bordalo Pinheiro, on the occasion of 171º anniversary of the Portuguese artist Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro (1846-1905), this is a stroll around 19th century Lisbon. Through a giant map, the exhibition features “nine spaces identified by Bordalo’s imagination, nine sceneries for his narratives which were joyful, sometimes satyrical, filled with political and social metaphore,” according to the website Agenda.Lx.

From São Bento to Terreiro do Paço, from Chiado to Carmo, from Avenida da Liberdade to Campo Grande, the city’s places mark Bordalo’s work places.
