A new edition of Festival Cantabile is being held in Lisbon until September 20. The festival features prestigious German chamber music artists.

According to the organisers, German artists will perform together with Portuguese artists, “intertwining the past and the present”.

The festival includes pieces from German and Portuguese artists, as well as premieres of contemporary works. The event will take place in several venues across Lisbon and Sintra, including Museu Arqueológico do Carmo and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

The annual event is organised by Goethe-Institut Portugal, in partnership with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Violist Diemut Poppen has been the mentor and artistic director of the event since it was first launched in 2010.
