The Mafra National Palace, in Portugal, is hosting an exhibition inspired by the novel Baltasar And Blimunda, by Portuguese author and Nobel Prize winner José Saramago.
The novel, called Memorial Do Convento in its original title in Portuguese, is related to the construction of the Mafra convent.
The initiative comes 300 years after the launching of the first stone for the building of the Mafra Palace, and 35 years after the first publication of the novel Baltasar And Blimunda, Fundação José Saramago says in a press release.
The exhibition, organised by the Mafra City Council in partnership with Fundação José Saramago, opened yesterday, Sunday, and will last until May 31. It is curated by Filomena Oliveira.
