The Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, under direction of maestro Sebastian Perlowski, is playing a set of New Year’s concerts, premièring pieces by Janusz Bielecki. There will be a total of four concerts, in Lisbon, Almada, Oporto and Barreiro.

The concerts are to take place tomorrow, January 4, 9 pm, at Teatro Municipal Joaquim Benite, in Almada, on January 6, 9.30 pm, at Coliseu do Porto, in Oporto, and, on January 8, 4 pm, at Auditório Municipal Augusto Cabrita, in Barreiro. The first concert took place on January 1, 5 pm, at Centro Cultural de Belém, in Lisbon.

The pieces to be premiered by Polish composer Janusc Bielecki are Metamorphoses and Paraphrases. The composer’s work has been played in rooms such as Palau de la Música Catalana, in Barcelona, or Großer Saal do Musikverein, in Vienna.

The concerts by the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra also feature the opening of William Tell, by Gioachino Rossini and the opening of Ruslan and Ludmila, by Mikhail Glinka.
