One of the oldest music festivals of Portugal starts today, August 17, and will last until August 20. Paredes de Coura brings famous names such as LCD Soudsystem, to the margins of the river Taboão.
Among the highlights of this year’s programme are the bands LCD Soundsystem, Cage The Elephant, Vaccines and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Other national highlights include Capitão Fausto, Portugal The Man and We Trust.
In addition, the initiative Vozes da Escrita (Writing Voices, in English) is back featuring conversations led by musicians Gisela João and Samuel Úria, Capicua as well as Adolfo Luxúria Canibal.
The festival finishes on Saturday, with Chvrches performing at the main stage.
