The SAL — Surf At Lisbon Film Festival 2016 is being held between November 17 and 20 at São Jorge Cinema, in the Portuguese capital.

“The festival consists on four days of screenings of both feature films and short films, with a more artistic approach, along with parallel events as photography and painting exhibits, concerts and DJ performances,” the organisers say at the event’s official website.

The annual event was first launched in 2012. “Emphasizing an alternative approach, it is intended, with the presented films, to show the more artistic and plastic side to Surfing cinematography seeking to potentiate synergies, in what concerns culture, sports and tourism, assuming the role of promoting the interaction among them, this way captivating new audiences, namely in the Lisbon metropolitan area and consequently in the whole country,” the organisers add.
