The 4th edition of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale will be held from Wednesday, October 5, to December 11, in several venues in the Portuguese capital city.
The 67-day programme includes international conferences, exhibitions, book launches and awards. The theme of the 2016 edition is The Form of Form.
“The different perspectives on architecture will be presented through their aesthetic, technical, social and political aspects. Understanding architecture as a profession that is committed to a complex social context will make it possible to further advance the implications and possibilities of architectural decisions, enhancing their technical and cultural importance in society,” state the event’s chief curators André Tavares and Diogo Seixas Lopes.
According to the organisers, the non-profit association Lisbon Architecture Triennale aims to “examine, foster and promote architectural thinking and practice”. The forum — held every three years — is aimed at promoting “the debate, discussion and dissemination of architecture across geographic and disciplinary boundaries”.
