The photography exhibition My Toilet — Global Stories From Women and Girls will come to an end this month, at Roca Lisboa Gallery, in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon.

According to the gallery, the exhibition consists of a collection of photographs of women and girls from around the world and their respective toilets. “Having a toilet is a synonym of more opportunities in terms of, for instance, education, work, dignity, safety and status, anywhere in the world,” the organisers say.

The exhibition held at Roca Lisboa Gallery opened in October 2016 and lasts until this month. The project My Toilet was organised in 2014 by the not-for-profit association Water & Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP). It is aimed to stress the importance of safe sanitation.
