Lisbon Mistura Festival’s 10th edition starts tomorrow and goes until July 23, in Intendente, one of the capital city of Portugal’s neighbourhoods.
“Among other aspects, the festival this year is celebrating hip-hop and the culture that surrounds it, which expresses itself throughout greater Lisbon,” say the organisers in a press release. “Lisboa Mistura is presenting three pillars that allows us to listen to the sounds of the city today: hip hop, electronic music and popular music, ranging from well-known sounds and melodies to new and innovative approaches.”
The big highlight of this year’s programme is Valete & NBC, since both MC are inviting other names from the Portuguese hip-hop music scene, including Virgul, Maze, Fuse, Sir Scratch, Bob da Rage Sense, on July 21.
The opening of the festival takes place tomorrow, on July 19, at the Underdogs Art Store, with the construction of a collective graffiti art work, by artists Glue and Mosaik, and with the performance of DJ Kwan. There will also be a talk about The Sound of Lisbon.
The event is organised by Association Sons da Lusofonia, an entity celebrating its 20 years of existence.
