In view of the vibrant force of the local young talents, Cinema Alegria and Association Audio-Visual CUT co-present a Local Young Filmmakers Showcase and Sharing on November 23, 2016, 8pm at Cinema Alegria Theatre 2, screening three promising short films from Macau which are Come, the Light; Tricycle Thief; Crash. Directors are invited to meet the audience after the screening and share their thoughts on creation, filmmaking and experience in participating overseas festivals.
Macau director, Hong Heng Fai, his new short film Crash is nominated for the Best Short Film in the 53rd Taipei Golden Horse Awards (26 Nov), and in the coming 32nd International Short Film Festival Berlin (14-20 Nov). Another short film Come, the Light (directed by Chao Koi-Wang) has been awarded The Best Short Film at the 9th XINING First International Film Festival, and at the 8th Annual Bushwick Film Festival hosted at New York. Also, Russian born Macau/Hong Kong based director Maxim Bessmertny’s narrative short film Tricycle Thief had entered Toronto International Film Festival (Tiff) Official Selection and won the 2015 Kodak Gold Award for Best Short Film.
