A concert, a performance and the beginning of a video art festival are three good reasons to look forward to this weekend in Macau.
Tonight, Friday, October 4, head to Live Music Association’s concert venue for a treat of Nordic Music Showcase, scheduled to 9.30 pm. The line up features Taragana Pyjarama (Denmark electronic), Bror Forsgren (Norway Indie Pop) and Saint Cava (Denmark R&B).
Tomorrow, Saturday, November 5, Unitygate brings site specific performance Territories of Memories to Albergue SCM’s Patio, at 7 pm. The 50-minute show is directed by Sandra Battaglia, Stella Ho and Rui Filipe Reis (Music).
But before that, at 5.30 pm, at Casa Garden, you should check out a double opening: the inauguration of the exhibition AFA Autumn Salon — featuring 67 artworks by 32 local artists — and international video art festival VAFA — Video Art for All.
I know there is plenty to do this weekend in Macau, but I cant’t help reminding book lovers of something happening next door. This year’s edition of the Hong Kong International Literary Festival starts today, Friday, and lasts until November 13. Bei Dao, Lionel Shriver, Hanya Yanagihara and Adam Johnson are some of the participants in the 2016 edition.
So, whether in Macau or in Hong Kong, my advice to you: do not stay in.
